Our 160-acre (or 64.77ha) vineyard is now producing wine from 20-year-old vines. This brings great pleasure and excitement to those who share our wines.
But our story, and the history of Helen’s Hill, go way beyond 20 years — and are the stuff of true romance and grit.
Named for the late previous owner, Helen’s Hill commands one of the finest views of the valley — and there’s solace taken that her spirit remains around the property, especially on her favourite hill.
The Nalder and McIntosh families have nurtured the land — the elder generation bringing 50 years of agricultural knowledge from the Mallee.
Despite its gentle development from boutique winery into a major Yarra Valley food and wine destination, Helen’s Hill is, in essence, a working farm. As a guest, you’ll likely share the winding drive that leads to the new restaurant/cellar door with a tractor. Or Brutus and Caesar (our four-legged workers). Or Robyn’s mutt.
And so it is that we have a plan, a direction. Dedication and patience are familiar friends on our road. We have waited patiently for many years, and we now present to you a stable of premium, 100% estate-grown, Yarra Valley wines…
