Helen's Hill 2021 Winemaker's Reserve Pinot Noir

The Helen's Hill 2021 Winemakers Reserve Pinot Noir is crafted from the best two barrels selected from the exceptional 2021 Yarra Valley vintage. This reserve Pinot Noir captures the vintage's depth and complexity, showcasing vibrant layers of dark cherry, red plum, and delicate floral notes, with hints of spice and earthy undertones. Its refined tannin structure and balanced acidity promise longevity, offering a cellar life of over 10 years. Ideal for special occasions or pairing with dishes like duck confit or mushroom risotto, this Pinot Noir will continue to evolve, revealing new layers of elegance with each passing year.

Brilliant ruby in the glass, the 2021 Winemaker’s Reserve opens with lifted aromas of red cherry, wild strawberry, and rose petal, underpinned by spice, earth, and a subtle forest-floor note. The palate is elegant and layered — vibrant red fruit woven with fine tannin and savoury complexity. French oak brings lift and texture, while the finish lingers long and graceful, leaving a sense of quiet power.

The 2021 vintage provided fruit of exceptional character and purity across our Pinot blocks. From these parcels, our winemaker selected the most expressive barrels from the best-performing clones to create this limited Reserve blend. Each clone was fermented and matured separately before blending, ensuring the final wine reflects the full spectrum of the season. It then spent 13 months in French oak — 40 per cent new, the remainder 1–2 years seasoned — to build structure and texture while retaining brightness and finesse.

Perfect with refined, earthy dishes: duck breast with cherry glaze, roast lamb with thyme and garlic, or wild-mushroom risotto. It also pairs beautifully with creamy Brie or aged Comté. Whether opened to celebrate a milestone or shared over conversation, this wine embodies the quiet confidence of a vintage worth remembering.
