On Wednesday, 24 June, Helen’s Hill is heading into the city for a very special five-course wine dinner at Saint & Rogue.
Set in the heart of Melbourne, this intimate evening brings together seasonal cooking, thoughtful wine pairing, and the character of Helen’s Hill Cellar. Each course has been designed to sit beautifully alongside one of our wines, creating a relaxed yet refined dining experience that moves through sparkling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Cabernet blend styles.
This is an evening made for lingering — over good food, beautifully matched wine, and the quiet pleasure of discovering how each glass changes with the plate beside it.
The evening
Guests will enjoy a five-course seasonal menu, paired with a curated selection of Helen’s Hill wines.
The dinner begins with salmon rillettes, served with Harris Smokehouse salmon, sour cream, fennel, chives, cucumber, Yarra Valley salmon roe and crostini, paired with Roma’s Grace Blanc de Noir.
From there, the evening moves to tempura zucchini flowers with ricotta, mint, haloumi and beetroot relish, matched with Breachley Block Chardonnay.
For the Pinot Noir course, roasted Central Highlands duck risotto with porcini and cultivated mushrooms is paired with Range View Pommard Clone Pinot Noir.
The main course brings a generous side-by-side Shiraz tasting, with Romsey Range lamb cutlet, ratatouille, fondant potato, herb pangrattato and lamb jus paired with both Hill Top Yarra Shiraz and Cambrian Heathcote Shiraz.
The evening finishes with cloth-aged Pyengana cheddar, spiced poached pear and a Cabernet blend pairing — a fitting close to a dinner built around balance, texture and a little indulgence.
