Helen's Hill 2022 'Zenith' Reserve Shiraz

The Zenith Reserve Shiraz is crafted from the top five rows of Shiraz vines planted at the highest point of our vineyard—an area identified as the pinnacle of Shiraz-growing soil on the estate. These vines consistently deliver fruit of exceptional concentration and character, making them the source of one of our most powerful and expressive wines.

The 2022 vintage is a bold yet finely balanced Shiraz, with generous dark fruit flavours of blackberry and black plum, layered with notes of dark chocolate, liquorice, and a touch of smoky oak. Fine-grained tannins and well-integrated oak provide structure and length, giving the wine both immediate appeal and long-term cellaring potential.

Enjoy it now with rich, savoury dishes such as chargrilled ribeye, slow-cooked lamb shoulder, or venison with roasted root vegetables. It also pairs beautifully with firm aged cheeses and mushroom-based dishes for a more elegant match.

Deep crimson with a violet hue, Zenith opens with aromas of blackberry, dark plum, and mulberry, layered with hints of black pepper, spice, and cedar. The palate is full and concentrated yet beautifully composed, showing dense dark fruit, cocoa, and a fine mineral thread. Firm, silky tannins and well-judged French oak add lift and texture, drawing the wine out to a long, graceful finish. It’s a Shiraz that balances richness with restraint — a wine that speaks softly but leaves an impression.

The fruit for Zenith Shiraz is harvested at optimal ripeness from the most select vineyard parcels, chosen for their depth of flavour and natural balance. Fermented in small batches to preserve intensity and purity, the wine then matures for 18 months in French oak puncheons — 40% new, with the remainder 1–2 years seasoned. This careful élevage enhances structure and refinement, allowing the vineyard’s voice to shine through in every glass.

Zenith Shiraz is the perfect partner for richly flavoured dishes — grilled ribeye, slow-cooked beef cheeks, or lamb roasted with rosemary and garlic.
