The team at Helen’s Hill is delighted to invite you to an event like no other on our calendar.
On Saturday evening, October 26th starting at 6:30pm we invite you to attend the inaugural Baritone in the Barrel Hall event in the Helen’s Hill Barrel Room. This evening is designed to ignite your senses in every way, elevating the traditional wine and food pairing dinner by incorporating operatic performance to match.
To bring this concept to life, we have assembled a cast of artists from both the culinary and musical fields, each with a wealth of experience. Chef Ryan Frost, a Yarra Valley local who has led some of the Yarra Valley’s best kitchens for over a decade, has curated a 5-course menu designed to pair perfectly with our Estate and Reserve wines.
The true stars of the evening will be Adam Jon, an internationally trained and awarded operatic baritone and Helen’s Hill wine club member, accompanied by Irina Cherkasski, a pianist with decades of experience in operatic performance and accompaniment both in Australia and internationally.
For each paired food and wine dish, we have chosen the perfect aria to match, with the intent to captivate your senses in every way. Each dish, wine and aria will also be themed on a country around the world and the aria performed in that language.
This is truly a wine dinner like no other, offering a unique culinary and musical journey exploring cuisines and opera from around the world. Irina will continue to play throughout the evening between each performance to fill the hall with the sounds of classical music whilst you enjoy each dish.

The menu for the evening will feature six courses with matched wines, including four of our Reserve range wines and the debut release of our Heathcote Fiano. A vegetarian alternative menu is available on request.
